Delivery Options

Manta courses can be taken in either of two ways:

The first option is to take the course from the Manta web site. We call our Internet-based delivery system MantaNow! It provides global access to Manta's complete System i Training Library. Courses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The alternative to MantaNow is local delivery. In this case, we send you a CD containing the Manta courseware. You use this CD to install the courseware on a PC at your home or office.

Whether you select Internet or local delivery, you receive the same great training.

When selecting the delivery option that is right for you, be aware of the tradeoffs described below.

	MantaNow!	Local Delivery
License Duration and Pricing	The MantaNow license is an annual, renewable license. Prices are roughly 60% of the corresponding local delivery price for the first year, 40% for the second year, 25% for the third year, and 15% for every year after that. Discounts are available for prepaying for a two- or three-year term.	Theoretically, you can pay once and use the product forever. Maintenance is provided for an additional fee (see below).
Support	The annual fee includes all support.	Technical support is provided free for three years.
Maintenance (Course Updates and New Courses)	Course updates are immediately available to students. In other words, you receive free, immediate maintenance. If we add a course to a product you purchased (such as a combination pack), you have immediate access to the new course at no extra charge.	If Manta updates a product you have purchased, you can buy an upgrade at that time. The price will depend on the extent of the changes. Typically, an update costs 10 to 15% of the original price. Customers who purchase the entire Manta System i Training Library can enroll in the Library Maintenance Plan to receive all new courses and course updates for a fixed annual fee. The price is $1200 per year for a single-user installation, $1800 for 5 users, and $2400 for 10 users. To be eligible for the Library Maintenance Plan, your copy of the Manta System i Training Library must be at the current Manta release level. Therefore, we recommend that you enroll in the program as soon as possible after purchasing a library.
SRG Maintenance	Maintenance is available for the complete set of SRGs for $100/year.	Maintenance is available for the complete set of SRGs for $100/year.
Installation and Setup	We perform the setup work and email you the URL to access the training.	Installation is performed using InstallShield. The course presentation software requires 8 megabytes of available hard disk space. Each course needs additional space (typically, 1-2 megabytes). A single-user license lets you install the purchased product(s) on one computer. This may be a stand-alone PC or a network file server such as an i5 system. Or, one student can install the product on a home computer. The courseware can be moved from one computer to another, as long as it is uninstalled from the first system before it is installed on the second system. With a multiple-user license, you can install the courseware on a server or on independent systems up to the license limit.
Student Administration	Basic student ID/password management is provided at no charge. Complete functionality is available for an annual fee ($50 for a course, $100 for a series, and $200 for a combo pack or the complete library).	The Student Administration option is not available with local delivery.
