Using the IBM WebFacing Tool

Manta Technologies Inc. announces the availability of a new course in its popular Using WebSphere Development Studio Client (WDSc) series. The course, Using the IBM WebFacing Tool, describes how to use this tool to create a WebFacing application.

The IBM WebFacing Tool is used to create a Web (browser) interface to an existing green-screen (5250) application. The course begins by describing the concepts behind the WebFacing tool. You will then see how to open the WebFacing perspective in WDSc, define a WebFacing project, and use the WebFacing conversion tool to convert the 5250 interface to a web-based interface. Next, the course shows how to test a WebFacing application using the test environment built into WDSc. You will then see a variety of ways in which a WebFacing application can be enhanced. The course ends by describing the steps that must be performed in order to deploy a WebFacing application.

Like all Manta series, Using WebSphere Development Studio Client (WDSc) is available in two ways. You can install the series on a PC or take the courses through MantaNow, Manta’s Internet-based delivery system. Prices for the series start at $394 for a one-year, single-user MantaNow license or $636 for a CD license. A companion Student Reference Guide is available for $35. Each course in the series, including Using the IBM WebFacing Tool, can be purchased individually for $179 or taken online for $110.

This course is available automatically to customers who have purchased the entire iSeries Training Library, either for CD delivery with the optional maintenance plan or for MantaNow delivery. It is also available to MantaNow users of the Program Development Combination Pack and the Web Development Combination Pack.
