MantaNow Enhancements

Manta Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce a major update to MantaNow, its Internet-based training delivery system for System i users. The new MantaNow software provides benefits for students, training administrators, and the organizations for which they work.

For students, the new MantaNow interface provides training that starts faster and is more reliable. This is due to the application of AJAX techniques to eliminate the use of Java applets in the student’s browser. The use of cookies has also been eliminated, allowing students to use higher security settings in their browsers.

Multiple training administrators are now supported. As with the student interface, the new administrator interface uses AJAX techniques to make all administration functions available from a single screen.

Perhaps the most important new function is the ability to create a custom curriculum plan for a student or a group of students (such as all operators). This curriculum plan is used to create the student’s menu into the training. Among the new reports that are available is one that lets the trainer view the student’s progress in completing his or her plan, as well as the student’s scores on all relevant exams. Other new administration functions include the ability to update contact information online and to view the status of all course licenses.

The net result of these enhancements is to give the organization greater control over the training that it delivers to its employees, while delivering that training in a more secure and more reliable manner.
