Domino Release 8

Manta Technologies has announces two new additions to its Online Seminar Series, What's New in Domino Release 8 and Upgrading to Domino Release 8 on System i. Both seminars are presented by Kim Greene, a nationally recognized Domino consultant, author, and lecturer.

The first seminar teaches you about the Domino Release 8 server, which offers a wealth of enhancements. The new features include the Out of Office service, Inbox maintenance, a new ODS structure, database enhancements to improve performance, and new server commands. You will also learn about directory, DWA, messaging, policy, security, and web server enhancements. This seminar will also explain the streaming replication performance improvement for clustering and will highlight what is new in Domino 8 for the System i.

The second seminar shows you how to design a bulletproof plan to achieve a smooth, reliable upgrade to Lotus Domino Release 8. Upgrading the core Domino product will be covered along with the Lotus Domino extended products such as LEI, Quickr, and SameTime. You will learn about not so well documented steps that are critical to ensure a pain-free upgrade. The seminar will provide a checklist to properly plan for the upgrade as well as describe best practices for a successful upgrade. The IBM i 6.1 program conversion impact to Lotus Domino and the extended products is also covered. Eight steps to a successful conversion ensure there are no surprises when performing V6R1 program conversions for the Lotus Domino products.
