Manta Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce a multi-year project to add an audio track to each of its 100+ System i courses. Like many of the innovations that Manta has introduced over the years, audio was suggested by customers who felt it would enhance their learning experience. Additional controls have also been added to the Manta presentation system to let students select the types of audio files to be played (none, sound effect only, or sound effect plus full voice-over).
The first series to offer audio is Introduction to the System i Environment. This series describes the basic skills needed to use a System i. The series describes how to sign on, navigate the i5/OS menu structure, enter data, use commands, and perform other common tasks. As you learn the basic skills, you will also learn System i concepts. You will learn how to access an i5/OS system using both a traditional 5250 workstation and a personal computer.

The new audio feature is available through MantaNow, Manta’s Internet-based delivery system. Prices for the complete Introduction to the iSeries Environment series start at $494 for a one-year, single-user license. A companion Student Reference Guide is available for $45.
